THE GIFT

SALVATION
 Before you can become a Champion of Purity you must make the most important decision you will ever make in your life. I realize that not everyone who visits this site has made a personal commitment to Christ and some may need to renew their commitments. So, I urge you to take a long look at your life and consider all that you will be giving up if you do not accept Him. First, let's take a look at salvation and why it is so important.

WHAT IS SALVATION?

 

The dictionary defines salvation as preservation or deliverance from destruction; deliverance from the power or penalty of sin; redemption. When Adam and Eve disobeyed the commands of God they allowed sin to enter the world. But, it does not stop there. Romans 3:23 says that "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." So, we have no excuse not to acknowledge that we are all sinners desperately in need of salvation or redemption.

IS REDEMPTION REALLY NECESSARY?

As you all know every decision in your life has a penalty. It can be good or bad; to your benefit or to your destruction.  Choosing to take care of yourself by eating right and exercising can be of great benefit to your physical body. Choosing excess can be to your physical destruction. Well, spiritually we are the same way. Accepting that we are sinners in need of salvation can be of benefit to your spiritual self.  Denying that you are a sinner in need of salvation will lead to your soul's eternal destruction.

 

The point is this when sin entered the world there was a penalty for it. The penalty is eternal damnation. In order to avoid such a high price (I would venture to say that eternal damnation of your soul to hell because of disobedience is a stiff price to pay for wanting to do things your own way). Well, because God is so just and loving he made a way so that we would not have to endure the torments of hell. That's why we have redemption.

 

Redemption is deliverance upon payment of ransom; rescue; salvation from sin through Jesus' sacrifice.

 

Imagine this...

You are accused of a crime and you know that you are guilty  You did it and deserve everything that's coming to you. You are sentenced to death. And, although you know you are guilty you wish someone would have mercy on you. Even just a little mercy would be nice. But, you know that is just wishful thinking. But just when you thought all hope was lost...

 

A man comes and says whatever his crime I will pay the penalty. You think to yourself this can't be true, why would this man do such a thing? Who in their right mind would take my place? How could he? There's not enough love in the world for such a thing.

 

This may seem absurd but this is exactly what happened.  God in all of his mercy saw what humans had gotten themselves into and he knows that although we may think that we know it all and have all of the answers we are really clueless and would totally destroy ourselves if he does not intervene. So, what does he do? He sends is only son, Jesus, who offers his life as a sacrifice in order to pay the penalty that we all deserve to pay. He gave up his life so that you might have life eternally. Wow, what a sacrifice and why? All because of love!

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

SO, WHAT WILL YOU DO?

ADMIT. BELIEVE. CONFESS.

If you truly are serious about accepting this gift, I must warn you. It is not something that should be taken lightly and God is not a play toy or your personal genie in a bottle. Christ's sacrifice is truly amazing and he should be reverenced, worshiped, praised, thanked and honored for all of the many great things that he has done. Accepting his gift will not bring perfection to your life, but I can guarantee that no matter what you go through, no matter how difficult or impossible it may seem, Christ will be there. He is true to his word and his word states that "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5)

 

Christ will bring peace, comfort, joy, calmness and fulfillment to your life.

 

If you really would like to accept this gift than please do the following:

 

  1.  Admit that you are a sinner in need of the redemptive blood of Christ.  

    "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
     "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:5)

  2.  Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God who gave himself as a living sacrifice for the pardon of your sins.     

    "But as many as received Him to them gave he power to become as sons of God, even to them that believe on
    His Name." (John 1:12)
    "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31)

  3.  Confess that Christ is Lord of your life and that He has forgiven you of sin through repentance and confession.

    "If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thy heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved; for with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession
    is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9 & 10)
